Hi,

An old problem just started recurring, so I thought I should use this old thread where you had fixed it.

I have been using QI (currently v3.5) in a custom module on every article for several years.

Just recently it reverted to an old problem. The links in the index no longer work - they all just return to the top page of the article.

The article and custom module have this:
module:
{index min="3" max="4" article="current"}

article:
{index min="3" max="4"}

The automatically generated links in the Index now have this format:
www.tbox2.com/toolkits/kit-1/theme-1k#the-letters-v-u-and-w

I'm pretty sure they used to have this format:
www.tbox2.com/toolkits/kit-1/theme-1k?start=5

If you try those links, you'll notice that the second one works, but the first takes you to the first page of the article. Unless QI is putting in anchors, the first link wouldn't work.

Has something changed? These indexes were all working a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks,

Matt

I assume you are running on Joomla 3.
Nothing has changed in the J3 version of Quick Index that would cause such a change in behaviour.

What version did you use before the update?
What else did you update?

I advise you to place back the last working backup you made. The one you made before installing the updates.
Then only update Quick Index and see if that changes the behaviour again.

Sorry, I should have specified. It's Joomla 4.3.3.

The previous version of QI was 3.4.4. I tried cycling back to that version, but it didn't help.

I have installed no new plugins or components in the past few months.

The only updates in the past few months were the usual ones: Joomla, Akeeba Backup, Admin Tools, JCE, Template Creator CK, Membership Pro, and, of course, various Regular Labs extensions.

Thanks,
Matt

I don't think I can roll the site back to an earlier version. I can always export newer articles and take screenshots of newer menu items and re-update extensions.

The problem is new users/subscribers. There's no way I know of that I can reconstruct them, with their hashed passwords that I can't see, and their connections to renewing subscriptions with Stripe and PayPal that I have no control over.

The last time this thing with the links happened, the problem turned out to be an easy fix for you: at the time you said it was "a stupid little mistake." Any chance it's something like that again (fingers crossed)?

Thanks,
Matt
