Working with Page Breaks

Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
Found the issue with the urls to different pages not working. Stupid little mistake.

If the indexes are showing on places where they shouldn't, can you give me the urls of those pages and tell me exactly where...

Here is one where it looks right but links don't work (assigned to menu item and tag in the article):

Here is one where it's both in content and left mod (assigned to menu item, no tag in article):

And here is one where it's just in content (not assigned to menu item, no tag):

Should be fixed with latest dev.
Here is one where it's both in content and left mod (assigned to menu item, no tag in article):
You are showing the index of article 44 in the module, while viewing a different article.
You probably want to use the "current" article.
See: docs3.regularlabs.com/quickindex
And here is one where it's just in content (not assigned to menu item, no tag):
The module (TOC) is only assigned to 1K and 1J, not to 1I

I see my last reply didn't make it to the forum. I have been getting time outs on trying to submit.

Here it was:

Ok, yes! That fixed the links.

So, I guess for the rest, I need to have auto index, menu assignment, and index tag in the article for it to work correctly? And if there's an article in the category that I don't want to have the Index, that's not an option at this point, correct?

Thanks again, this is amazing!

Yes, me remembering to change the article would make a difference, wouldn't it? Doh!

You don't need the auto index.

Well, sir, I am just blown away. I have never had an experience like this.

I can't thank you enough. Talk about "above and beyond!"

😁

The new feature will be included in the next release.

Made some progress on Quick Index. Should be a lot more stable now.
Also, it will now add the index automatically to following pages, if you have the {index} tag on the first page.

Please try the latest development version from:

Thank you for your efforts.

I'm not sure I understand that last part. The version that I have, QuickIndex-v2.7.0-dev1778900-PRO, already puts the Index on every page of the article. Or are you referring to something else?

Thanks,

Matt
Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
It will if you have a module that takes over the index.
It wouldn't if you just had the article.

Also made some fixes so the page numbering still is correct when the index starts on the second page, or when having multiple indexes on different pages.

But please just check if all is still working for you with the latest dev. To make sure I didn't break anything for your case.

It is in a module.

Yes, it still seems to be working after I installed the latest version.

Thanks,

Matt

It seems that QuickIndex is now breaking the pages it is on. I was using the dev version that you had sent me (I forgot to write down the number, but it was a version of 2.8.1.) to fix a previous problem, so I upgraded to the latest 2.8.1. but it didn't fix the problem.

What happens is that any page on the site that uses QuickIndex now just shows as a blank white page. If I remove the call to QI from the page ({index ...}), then the page reappears.

This also happened last week -- I reinstalled the dev version and then it seemed to work again, but now it is happening again.

Thanks,
Matt

Are the blank white pages completely blank? Or just the article part?
If completely blank, please check your PHP error log or enable PHP error reporting to see what is breaking the page.

Yes, completely blank. The php error log is also empty.

I enabled PHP error reporting and hit the pages again, but nothing is being generated. Here's an example page:
