An Unusual Article Nesting Need

Bruce Scherzinger's Avatar Bruce Scherzinger
Hey everyone,

I have a site where there are categories of monthly "columns" whose titles/aliases all follow the exact same naming convention. The idea behind this was to be able to have a main article (newsletter) that embeds the various parts within it. However, the syntax I thought would work to do this, didn't...unless I've got it wrong.

This is within an article that wants to embed another article with the same alias as its own but from the "Memory Lane" category.
{article category="Memory Lane" alias="{article-other}[this:alias]{/article-other}"}{/article}
Is there a way to do what I need to do here?

Thanks in advance,
Bruce

Edit: I know I have used the category="whatever" filter to resolve duplicate title/alias conflicts, but looking at the documentation I do not see it. So perhaps the real question here is "Does AA handle the case of duplicate titles/aliases?"

Yeah, your syntax doesn't make much sense. Not sure what you are trying to do with [this:alias], or with the entire thing, for that matter.

Try:
{article category="Memory Lane" alias="current"}{/article}
