Date formatting issue using calendar custom fields

Chris Egle's Avatar Chris Egle
I am having trouble with getting custom calendar fields to output the right time when I use the format feature for the date output. For example:
[opendate]
= Dec 1, 2021 8:18 am
[opendate format="F j, Y H:i e"]
= December 1, 2021 03:18 America/New_York

There is a difference of 5 hours. The America/New_York timezone is UTC-05:00 currently. (Daylight Savings Time starts in March).

Is there a setting that I need to change? The regular date fields(created, publish_up, etc.) correctly accommodate the timezone. I have a little bit of a debug output for you to see: devwww.bowenehs.com/exam-prep/courses/ci...ne-review.html#dates

Look for Debug tables to see.

My settings:
Joomla: 3.10.3
Articles Anywhere: 11.1.3
PHP: 7.4.26
PHP timezone: America/New_York
Joomla global settings timezone: America/New_York

Yeah, something going weird with timezones being applied double with custom fields in some cases.
I have not been able to reproduce it here, and have fixed it in an earlier version. So not sure what is causing this on your setup.

Can you give me (super) admin and (s)ftp access so I can take a look?

That fixed the issue. The formatted dates from custom fields are now tracking with unformatted ones. Thanks!

Ok, great 🙂
The fix will be included in the next release.
