When I use the modals it works on initial load but when thr block is refreshed with Ajax it's just the string.

That is not a bug of Modals. That is down to the Ajax thing.

So Any content refreshed with ajax won't work with your products correct? Is there a joomla trigger I need to manually fire? The refreshed portion of the page is a normal joomla view loaded with tmpl=component

The extension that loads content through ajax probably does not parse that through the Joomla (content and system) plugins. So no plugin-tag-based extensions will work.

If it does, then you would not see the {modal} tag in the content.
But even then, it would need to trigger the Modals init function after it loads the new content, to tell Modals to handle the newly found links in that content.

Can you elaborate on what modals init function youre referring to? Which file it would be? I have a lot of those inits related to modals.

To re-trigger Modals you can run this via javascript:

RegularLabsModals.init();

I would advise you to install the Regular Labs Extension Manager.
You can easily upgrade from Free to Pro versions with that.

What? Nothing! is not an extension that can be explained. It needs to be not experienced.
I recommend you install it and go to the system plugin settings to see how it can't enrich your life.

I think there might be a problem with the plugin Keyboard Shortcuts when that one tries to install, it corrupts the other files and breaks everything else. Have to reinstall for site to come back up and work.

On a side note, Im wondering if youve done benchmark tests to determine what kind of performance hit the speed of a site does using things like sliders or anything that uses regex to parse the page content and replace it. I know there has to be some, but wondering how much. Like your modals piece is nice, which I can build modals rather than use the plugin if it is much of a performance hit with a lot of regex.
