Module assignments lost after j4 migration

Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
@Thomas, regarding that URL thing.
There seems to be something wrong in your setup and/or server configuration.
The URL condition asks Joomla for the full URL of the current page (to compare to).
For that URL, it returns:
https://[...]/landing//skl/traumjoker-gratis
And here are those double slashes again your encountered earlier too (when giving me example URLs).

So that is down to something in your Joomla setup. And is outside the control of Advanced Module Manager.

Regarding the other things... Yes, try with the latest dev versions.

I did everything again with the latest dev releases.

- The installation of the extensions threw no errors.
- colors in AAM still not fully migrated
- still same problems with modules not showing up (I checked everything, I didn't found any double slashes, I must have been a typo when writing the forum post)

PS: There was no dev version of Articles Anywhere.

Example: Module ID 298

Sorry, I don't know how else to explain this in a way you understand.

The issue with the double slashes is under the hood and something your Joomla setup does.
Advanced Module Manager asks Joomla for the current URL, and gets a URL with double slashes in it.
So even if you don't have these in the URL bar of the browser, Joomla is telling Advanced Module Manager that the current URL DOES have these double slashes.

This is likely down to some weird setting on your server.

Not something Advanced Module Manager is responsible for or can fix.

And that's the reason why the module is not showing up? And why does it work in Joomla 3 for over 8 years now? Besides the questions I will investigate it further.

Yes.

I don't know. Must be down to a difference in Joomla 3 and 4.

I've found a workaround for the double slash problem. These modules do show up now. I've just changed the rule to another part of the url (basically the domains)

Still there are some issues:

- not all color assigments are migrated
- modules which have been assigned to menu items don't show up

You can use the same credentials as before. I used the dev versions of the extensions.

Did you test this with the very latest version of Advanced Module Manager?

Yes

But again, I can't do much on your setup without full access to both the Joomla 3 version (just before upgrade) and the version after upgrade.

If you can provide me with full access to both these setups (could be set up on different subdomains, for example), then I am happy to look into this further.
