Joomla 4

Yannis Michail's Avatar Yannis Michail
Hi Peter, im using AMM to all my sites, and in particular when im building shops with JCart. There i have the header links, one module published for the desktop and one module for the mobile. Since the jcart module "uses" the same code as source to show the cart icon, account etc i get a conflict with the account dropdown menu and the only solution (uk-hidden@m or uk-vible@m wouldn't work as the code is in the page just the visibility is changed depending on the media query) was AMM with selection at which devices it would show each module. i have 4 Joomla 4 website that i have disabled AMM as i wait for the version to come out, but i was wondering if you could suggest me a workaround to solve the issue till the version for J4 is out. thank you in advance.

Released by early 2022

Advanced Module Manager

The plan was to get this ready late 2021, but not going to make it.

HI Peter,

just to get an understanding of what doesn "Released by early 2022" mean.

Is that said to be in jan 2022 or we talking about feb, mars etc ?

Cheers!

Hopefully January... going as fast as I can. But still quite some stuff to do.
So best answer I can give you: when it's ready (enough).

Ok thks for update Peter!

One thing about the update. As I understand you have to uninstall AMM v 3 and then install AMM v4 for the new Joomla 4 site.

Is it possible to keep all the settings you had from the old AMM 3 Joomla 3 version?

That would be a great time save for all of us if we could then just export/import these settings in some way or other solution?
Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
No, you don't need to uninstall AMM for J3. It will disable itself when you upgrade to J4.
There will be a full migration script in the installer to make sure all assignments and settings (that make sense) are kept ??

So hopefully before the end of the month. But I just had an operation on Sunday, so that put me back a bit.

Glad to see you took up the dev now...see the dev version but still these to go

^ J4 TODO: colours
^ J4 TODO: copy existing core menu and publishing assignments to new condition
^ J4 TODO: make all default settings work
^ J4 TODO: make duplicating modules also copy conditions
^ J4 TODO: make removing modules also remove / unmap conditions
^ J4 TODO: remove module assignment tab from menu items (makes no sense with AMM)
^ J4 TODO: show condition in list?

Cheers!

Yes, the dev version has been put up yesterday (and updated last night).
So you can test it out and see what you think...

Fixed a bunch of issues that made the previous dev version kinda unusable.
Should be a lot more stable and actually work now.

Advanced Module Manager for Joomla 4 is nearing the stable release… probably next week.

I just have 1 main thing to do: migrate existing core menu, language and publish date settings of modules to the AMM Conditions on first installation.

HI I still sick but did a first test install for a Joomla 4.0.6 site with Advanced Module Manager v9.0.0-dev2239101 [PRO] version no problem happend all get well.

And I see you redesign the "assignment" renamed it too with "Conditions". hmm But Peter I still think the old overview design before for Joomla 3 where you had a better quicker overview of all settings is better than starting with clicking to open the conditions, creating rules etc..Where you start with.."No condition set has been selected yet...

So the module will be shown on all pages of your website (that include the module position)." and create "rules" there.

In my opinion the design was better for the old AMM version Peter...this I guess make people more confusing.

Hope others here can also have some input on this..

cheers!
