Snippet code showing up in 404 pages

I use a snippet code to show the current date in a module position. However on the 404/403 pages the code is not parsed and shows up as such.

The 404 page is usually a stand-alone page not rendered through the normal Joomla process.
So not any Joomla plugins will work on it.
