old snippets already created and used will not change description text in the upper right corner. Does anyone also have this problem? Deleting cache doesn't solve the problem??
I only want to change the description text, nothing else...

I cannot reproduce the issue.
Try exporting the snippets, delete them and then import them again...
Of course after making a backup.

the description doesn't allow ---

Well, the text does actually allow '---'... It is a feature!
You can use it as a separator.
Everything before it will show in the list view. Everything after will only show in the edit view.

What do you mean with list view and edit view? The description in snippets doesn't have a edit view??

The list view is the main Snippets component view in the administrator (that lists all the snippets).
The edit view is what you see when you click on a snippet to edit it (where you have the description field).
