Hello Peter, this is Philip of Deliciousitaly.com in Rome. I was unable to renew a recent extension (AMPZ) which required the VAT/VIES Registration Number. My Italian VAT code just did not go through for whatever reason. If this happens would it be possible to pay via a bank transfer or Paypal etc?

The European VIES check indeed says your VAT number is invalid for cross-border transactions.
If you know that is incorrect, then I recommend you try again later.
However, if your VAT number is indeed not valid, then you cannot buy as a business. In that case, fix the issue, or buy as a non-business customer.
