Modules anywhere not obeying display rules in...

I an trying to add module content into a 3rd party component (OS Campus) and I have used Modules Anywhere to place the module in layout that I have edited in an override, on a Joomla 4 site.

It works well to display the content, but will not obey the rules I set for the module with advanced module manager - basically it ignores those rules and always displays in the layout. I had hope to control display using the Advanced Module manager logic - and thought it was possible.

I checked that the module follows the correct display rules when placed in a regular template position - so the issue is not the rules.

Is this a bug - should this work?
