Article index outside the actual article is not displayed

Peter R. Horak's Avatar Peter R. Horak
I would like to display the generated index NOT above the article, but next to it.
To do this, I have set up a module on the right as a test.

I have taken the necessary calls (syntax) from this documentation page: docs4.regularlabs.com/quickindex/going-f...ticle-index-anywhere

But no matter which of the following calls I use, the output always remains empty:

{index}
{index article=“current”}
{index article=“7507”}

What am I doing wrong?

No idea. Working fine on my setups...
Could be due to the template. Not sure.

Can you see if you get the same issue when using the cassiopeia template (just add ?template=cassiopeia to the url) and assign that module to a position that template has (ie sidebar-right)?

No, that can't be the reason (although I tried it anyway).
Because the module itself is displayed, it just remains empty...

Well, then this function is probably not applicable...

Can you give me (super) admin and (s)ftp access so I can take a look?

What extension are you using to minify the html?
I think that that is causing the issue.

Quick Index inserts html comment tags around the index so it knows where to find it after it is rendered. And can then move it to where you have the {index article=“current”} tag.
It looks like something else is removing those html comments before Quick Index has the chance to search for them.

Does this mean that QuickIndex is not compatible with certain other extensions?
I will investigate this according to your specifications and hope that the problem can still be solved in this way.

No, it means that some other extensions are not compatible with Quick Index 😁

But yes, not all extensions are compatible with each other. That is inevitable.
