The place an Article Index anywhere does not link correctly to the original article. How can I fix this? The index appears as clickable links but when clicked nothing happens.

No, it will not. Joomla 3 has been end-of-life for a year. I offer no development and support on Joomla 3 versions anymore.

It should. But if something doesn’t, then so be it. There is no further development on it. So also no bugfixes.
If it doesn't fit your needs, you'll have to search for a different solution.
