I am looking for a possibility to hide (unpublish?) an article depending on the geo location. Is this possible with the conditional plugin? not sure if I got it right, from what I understood it is only possible to hide specific text within in the articles?

Conditional Content can only hide specific content. The content inside the {show}/{hide} tags.
It does not control the access to the article itself.
You could do something like this with Conditional Content though:

It does not control the access to the article itself.
You could do something like this with Conditional Content though:
{show condition="..."}
You don't have access to this article!
{show-else}
... The article content ...
{/show}
