iframe modal CSS issues

Finn Williams's Avatar Finn Williams
Hello in Netherlands ... I am trying to put a contact form from JD Simple Contact Form in a modal, it gives me problems to get it work properly, I add iframe to that modal, then it works! But how do I get it to load the site's CSS files, or can I add / set a custom css file for the iframe modal?

Best regards Ulric

If you lose the templates styling when opening the modal via the iframe mode, see:

Hello in Holland 😊
I use RL modal in my footer on the multilingual site knudsenkilen.dk/en/ (see the green recycling mark on the right). when i use an article and tag views it works. but not with a Category blog view. What am I doing wrong?

knudsenkilen.dk/en/counselling/events (works article)
knudsenkilen.dk/en/assignment-types (works tag)
knudsenkilen.dk/en/counselling/instructions (fail to load blog)

Best regards Ulric

Not sure. Maybe something weird with the URL routing on your site.
Can you give me (super) admin and (s)ftp access so I can take a look?
You can use the 'Confidential information' button in the forum editor to hide sensitive information.

Here you go!
Confidential information:
(hidden)

It is in all languages when the menu item is set to display a Category in Blog view

In what module do you have these {modal} tags?
And can you also provide the (s)FTP credentials?

When I visit the website now:
406 Security Incident Detected
Your request was blocked.

And what does that mean? "406 Not Acceptable"
Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
Your site for some reason temporarily blocked me. You might want to look into that....

Anyway, Modals asks the Joomla core article router to create a non-SEF URL for the article.
That returns:
index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=241&catid=66&lang=en-GB
That URL works.

It then passes that through the Joomla core router to create a SEF URL, which results in:
/en/counselling/instructions/knudsen-and-the-environment
That URL doesn't work for whatever reason.

I have no idea what is causing Joomla to render a non-working SEF URL. But this is outside the control of Modals.
So either some bug in Joomla or something not quite right in your setup.

See if you can get it to work by simply using the URL attribute instead of the article attribute.

See you are logged in to the backend. and not Bloked.
Extremely strange that only menu items set to category blog view do not work?

What exactly do you mean by using "See if you can get it to work by simply using the URL attribute instead of the article attribute." i the footer modal code?

{snippet index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=241&catid=66&lang=en-GB}???

We're talking about Modals here, not Snippets.
{modal url="…"}
instead of
{modal article="123"}

Sorry it's because that RL modal is defined in the RL snippet, I understand ... thanks for your time and support. I will try it out 🙂

The footer modals got a new category, it did not work, tried with {modal url = "…"} it did not work on Category blog view either. But when they were assigned a hidden menu item, it worked. 🙂

Yeah, when articles have their own (hidden) menu items, it is a lot more stable. I guess Joomla gets confused with the active category in some weird cases.
