Email not visible for user, but is in source code

Thomas Thrane's Avatar Thomas Thrane
Hi
On this page I don't see the email in the text, but it is in the source code.
There should be an email right after this sentence: Send hurtigst muligt din ansøgning til .

Any ideas how to solve this?

You do?
Really weird, I don't in Safari, FF or Chrome.
I'll investigate ... Thanks!

It seems to be caused by something in your template. Check the URL using the Joomla core protostar template...

Thank you 🙂

It's there in Protostar and also in my template after I switch back - but later it disappears again.

Seems to be a JCH Optimize issue - seems to works after changing the settings there.

Ok, happy you found the cause.

Hi Peter,
I got the same problem using Yootheme Pro template.
JCH or any other caching is not active.
Email is always visible in source code.
Do you have an idea?
Thanks
Robin

The email address is not in your html output. Everything seems to be working fine.

Hi Peter,
I see this in the html output:
<a style=" padding:15px; color:#e30613;" href="mailto:" uk-icon="icon:mail" class="uk-icon">...
This is plain text.
Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
Are you looking in the actual output html (source)? Or are you using the element inspector?

Hi,
I have checked both. In the inspector, all mail addresses are displayed as plain text. Why is that?

In the source code only some, see screen.

Please try the latest development version from:
regularlabs.com/development-releases

Issue was with the extra spaces inside the href attributes.

Hi Peter,
thank you, it looks good with the new version, now.
But why is the inspector showing mail addresses as plain text?
Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
Because that is what the javascript turns the obfuscated code into. That's how the whole thing works.
Obfuscate the email addresses in the output. But make it work in the browser.

OK, I understand, but can bots also use the browser function to get the mail addresses?
Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
Email obfuscation is never 100% watertight. But 99.9% of the bots take the easiest road, and that is combing through html.
Fully rendering a page including the javascript and css and then trying to read the dom, is not a light process. So it is not impossible, but not practical for bots.
