Problem running Email Protector with Modals

Kevin Lewis's Avatar Kevin Lewis
Hi Peter

I am using Yootheme Pro, Widgetkit and Zoo on the latest version of Joomla, and have RL Modals and Email protector installed. My zoo articles display fine in Modals but the modal hangs if the article includes an email. This is solved by disabling the Email protector plugin. Do you have a solution, so that I can enable Email protector again without conflicting with the Modals?

Many thanks
Kevin

Try enabling the 'Load scripts/styles' setting in Modals.

Or try opening the modal in iframe mode:
{modal url="your/url" iframe="true"}
Or switch on the option in Modals plugin settings to open links in iframe mode by default.

If you lose the templates styling when opening the modal via the iframe mode, see:

Thanks Peter, the iframe solution works perfectly 🙂

Setting the iframe by default fixed the same problem I was having.

Hi
I have another problem.
When viewed in modals, article doesn't show cloaked email.
This issue manifested with recent upgrades of regular-stuff because it wasn't an issue before.
Notes:
- Open a iframe = Yes
- adding iframe="true" in modal syntax doesn't help
- Email is Joomla custom field.

Latest of everything.
Email protector works OK in regularly shown articles and modules.

The names are not clickable. You are not using Modals on that page.

Your main page has jQuery errors.
And your modal popup seems to not load the javascript files required.
Looks like these issues are caused by stuff on your end (extensions/template).

Also try switching the :oad styles/scripts option in the Modals system plugin settings.

Check your browser's console to get more info about the javascript error(s).

Hi

After spending hours to find possible javascript problems I decided to start from scratch:

- I just installed latest Joomla and latest Email protector and Modals. No other components, default template.
- created one featured article to be on home page and to hold modal url for test article: {modal article="2"}Test 1 popup{/modal}
- created one test article to be shown in popup
Content of test article: "This is test email: "
IM sure that email is not url.

Problem: When test article is shown in modal popup, it doesn't show email.
only this text: "This is test email:"

I can see that email protector works, because it wraps email text in code.
Only thing is that it doesn't work in popup any more because it strips email from text completely because of this error:
Uncaught ReferenceError: emailProtector is not defined

This used to work before (last year) because I tested it.

Modals plugin is set to work as iframe, and to load scripts.

Email protector is set
Display emails as
Mode - as clickable email address
