Some images do not link to the CDN

Federico Dantoni's Avatar Federico Dantoni
Hi Peter:

I've installed the CDN extension with Amazon Cloud Front on J4. Some images work fine and are routed perfectly to the CDN. But the images on the front page which are within a carousel (YT Shortcodes) do not link to the CDN.

SCENARIO:

The site is installed within a subfolder. Ex: mysite/folder/

If I do not indicate the folder in the CDN setup, and I leave it empty
siteroot: /

Then all images link to the CDN, including those in the carousel, but I lose all the CSS and java.

But if I indicate the Folder in the CDN setup
siteroot: /folder/

Then some images link fine to the CDN, but the ones within the carousel and some others do not. Although these images are within the images folder.

I've tried emptying the browser and Joomla cache, but that did not seem to help.

I use to have this working on J3 using an extension called JA S3, but that plugin no longer works on Joomla 4.

How should I approach this issue?

Thanks,

CDN for Joomla! can only change urls that are present in your HTML output.
Those carousel images are probably loaded via javascript, and only the root of the site/folder is mentioned in the HTML output (to pass to the javascript).
That means CDN for Joomla! does not see the full image URLs and cannot change them.

To check this, view the HTML output of your site (view source, not the inspector).

Thanks for the quick answer.
The images are not loaded via java, they are actually images that I placed in an article using html code.

For example: <img src="img_picture.jpg" alt="my picture">

Those don't show.

Is there another solution for that?

Thank you.

No, an issue in my code, not dealing with setups in subfolders correctly.
