Hello,

I'm unable to enter the licence key with error : Erreur de connexion au serveur download.regularlabs.com

Thank you for helping.

Regards
Patrick

It can be that your website or server is blocking the connection.

Or a temporary connection issue. I recommend you try again at a later stage...

I' ve tried this morning with message :

There was a problem validating your download key.
Try again later.
Otherwise, contact Regular Labs support.

I've installed modals on an other site a few days ago on v2.aunumis.com, same hoster (O2Switch), same version of Joomla, same Version of PHP with no error.

I've made a test with a fresh install of J4, without other extension ... same issue .

I really don't understand .
All others licence keys have been installed with no problem.

Can you give me (super) admin and (s)ftp access so I can take a look?

The Download Key check script does a Http call via the Joomla Http request to get the result from:
https://download.regularlabs.com/check_key.php?k=[YOUR DOWNLOAD KEY]
It does this via the full URL:
https://[YOUR WEBSITE]/administrator/index.php?option=com_ajax&plugin=regularlabs&format=raw&checkDownloadKey=1&extension=modals&key=[YOUR DOWNLOAD KEY]

Joomla uses curl for this.
For some reason your server just times out on this call. No errors, just nothing.

I recommend you ask your host about this.

Hello,

I opened a ticket at the hosting company and here is their answer:
Hello,
In this case, there must be a blockage either at the remote server level.
Your site has security that blocks the request.
Because I placed in white list at the level of the Firewall download.regularlabs.com
So there is no more blocking possible at our level.

Joomla is totally without installation of any extension....

I have been using modals for years and this is the first time I have had this problem...

Patrick

If my server was blocking yours, then I think the curl call would quickly return with an error.
Instead it just times out. Your host should do some curl calls and investigating on their end.

It can be that your websites IP address is (temporarily) on some global blacklist and it gets stuck along the way.

Hello,

Here is the answer of O2Switch

I understand and it is possible.
Except that I have whitelisted the server at our level.
Otherwise, you can ask him for the server IP directly and I will whitelist it to test.

Patrick

Do you have other Joomla sites on this domain/IP that are don't have issues with the Regular Labs key check?
Or is it only this domain that has the issue?

I have only marangone.fr and test.marangone.fr no other domain hosted here.
I have installed modals on V2.aunumis.com without problem on another hosting account.
Both are O2Switch hosting services.

I have asked my host to look into this...

This is their reply:
The IP address is not blocked on the server, so at most it could be in the firewall.
This is updated once every 4 hours based on multiple black and spam lists.

However, from some tests, I suspect that it is on the side of marangone.fr.
A traceroute shows that the connection continues right before their network:
[root@vps0216 ~]# mtr -nrc5 109.234.164.74

This could be because the ping protocol is disabled, but also a curl from us doesn't work:
[regularlabs@vps0216 public_html]$ curl -sIL https://marangone.fr
^C
In fact, I can't connect on any of the common ports:
[root@vps0216 public_html]# telnet marangone.fr 443
Trying 109.234.164.74...
^C
[root@vps0216 public_html]# telnet marangone.fr 25

[root@vps0216 public_html]# telnet marangone.fr 80

[root@vps0216 public_html]# telnet marangone.fr 22

[root@vps0216 public_html]# telnet marangone.fr 21

[root@vps0216 public_html]# telnet marangone.fr 465
Trying 109.234.164.74...

We would therefore like to receive a traceroute from the host of marangone.fr to your VPS.
We would also like to hear what this party bases the conclusion on that it is on our side.
Maybe we can get more information from that 🙂

So going by that, there seem to be issues on your side of the fence.

Here is the answer from o2switch
"Hello,

The ping requests are indeed blocked by us.
But it does not block curl requests."

Hello,

Here is the last message from O2Switch
"Hello,

I updated the firewall by chance, is it better?
If not, what is the IP address of the provider you are using?"

So, could you give me the IP adress of download.regularlabs.com ?
Thank you
