Assignments broken with SP page builder

pulsarinformatique's Avatar pulsarinformatique
Hi

as noted on archive.joomshaper.com/forums/advanced-module-manager (but it was fixed before it broke again) all the assignments you define in AMM are ignored when the module is placed inside a SP page builder page

Can you confirm please?
thanks

With what version did this still work for you and with what version does it not?

I doesn't work with joomla 3.10.9, AMM 9.1.5 and SP Page builder 3.8.6
I don't know when it broke since I just saw the issue
I just read on archive.joomshaper.com/forums/advanced-module-manager that this issue had already been solved in the the past

thanks

That was from a year ago. A lot has changed since then, also on their end.

Can you give me (super) admin and (s)ftp access so I can take a look?
And tell me how to see/reproduce the issue.

Yeah, sorry, can't help you with this.

This is way to SPPB specific. I have no idea where they are collecting the modules to display and how. But it looks like they are doing this in a way that pretty much ignores what Advanced Module Manager is trying to do.

I recommend you ask them about this.

PS: The issue you were referring to (that got fixed last year) was concerning something different.
That was specifically modules not showing up on the pagebuilder edit page.

Actually this is the very same issue: we have here modules assignments that are not taken into account when placed in the page builder.

I will contact Joomshaper to get this fixed

thanks for your help
Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
No, your issue is that modules don't show up on the frontend that are placed through Joomshaper.

The other issue was modules in normal module positions not showing up on the Joomshaper edit page itself (so when editing content).

HI
I contacted JoomShaper support and described the issue. Here is their answer :

"Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry for the inconvenience. I think your AMM extension is not compatible with the Page Builder. I have checked Joomla default module with the page builder module addon

-Thanks
"

What can you tell me about it please ?
thanks

I guess this is a pot-kettle situation.
Advanced Module Manager is not compatible with Page Builder.
Or Page Builder is not compatible with Advanced Module Manager.

Take whichever you want.

yes but since SP page builder module addon follows the assignments that are set in the modules, we can understand that AMM may not follow the same rules as the native rules to define when a module is displayed.

Well, probably too technical to get into. And like I said before, I have no idea what SP is doing under the hood and how they are collecting and generating the modules.

But it means that you cannot use the 2 extensions together.
