Disabling the Advanced Module Manager component doesn't corrupt your installation.
If you no longer want to use Advanced Module Manager, either uninstall it or also disable the Advanced Module Manager plugin.
I know what I say
1 - I disable the component
2 - I have done a backup
3 - I have done an upgrade from joomla
4 - I have the error when acceding to modules sites or Modules administrator : 404 Component not found.
5 - Restore from step 2
6 - It's OK
7 - I redo the upgrade
8 - I have again the 404 error
9 - I restore from 2
10 - I's OK
It's not crashing.
You are trying to load a page under the component com_advancedmodules (Advanced Module Manager).
But you disabled that component.
So it shows you a 404.
So is your issue solved if you also disable the plugin?
And why are you trying to update Advanced Module Manager, but also want it disabled? Makes no sense.
Halo,
When I update AMM to version 9.1.1 in J3 and then update Joomla to J4, all modules have the same Condition / Set Set (usage 517).
If AMM is uninstalled in J3 / J4, modules cannot be created or edited.
My question / request for advice is:
1) how to properly uninstall AMM in J3 so that everything is in the original simple Joomla settings (then update J4 and install AMM)
or
2) how to achieve the original AMM functionality after upgrading to J4
Thank you for doc. After upgrade process
First, make sure that your Joomla 3 site is updated to the latest Joomla 3.10 release
On Joomla 3.10, update all the installed Regular Labs Extensions to their latest version
Upgrade your Joomla 3.10 site to Joomla 4
Reinstall the latest versions of all the Regular Labs extensions. This will upgrade the extensions to their Joomla 4 counterpart.
If you do not want to use any of the AMM assignments and start fresh:
Delete the _advancedmodules table from your database, then re-install Advanced Module Manager.
