Wheels of Wonder replacing with Wheels of Wonder<sup>®</sup>
Result: Wheels of Wonder®® (double®)
Wheels of Wonder replacing with wheels of Wonder<sup>®</sup> (lower w)
Result: wheels of Wonder® (correct!)

That is not a bug.
You replacement contains the search string. ReReplacer is triggered multiple times depending on the settings and where the search string is.
Either try to set the 'Search Area' to something else.
Or change the replacement so that it is different to the search string.
For instance, replace with:
