[IP Login] unable to access last used admin page after user session expires

If I login with my URL key and my session expires, Joomla redirects me to the homepage once I click a link in the admin console (expected behavior). If I login again with my secret key, I can use the admin console as usual, until I go to the admin menu item that I clicked in my expired session: it immediately redirects me to the homepage.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install IP Login plugin (latest, free version), configure it for the user.
2. Login with secret URL key and go to a random admin page, e.g. /administrator/index.php?option=com_content.
3. Do nothing / wait till the session expires.
4. Try to navigate to another admin page, e.g. /administrator/index.php?option=com_search ; Joomla will redirect the request to the homepage (as it should).
5. Log in again with the URL key.
6. Navigate to the previous admin page, in this example /administrator/index.php?option=com_search.
7. Joomla will redirect the request to the homepage (as it should NOT).

It looks like I cannot reproduce this issue without IP login installed, disabled, or with IP login plugin enabled but not configured for the user.

Please try the latest development version from:
www.regularlabs.com/development-releases

This is actually caused by a bug in Joomla itself.

See what urls are generated in the admin menu when loading this url in the browser (after logging in):
(no trailing slash)

https://www.mydomain.com/administrator
As opposed to
https://www.mydomain.com/administrator/
Or
https://www.mydomain.com/administrator/index.php
