Try disabling the Regular Labs system plugins in the database and reinstall them.

Disabeling the RL system-plugins does not make any difference.

You could try deleting these folders:
libraries/regularlabs
plugins/system/regularlabs

That worked! Thanks a lot. 👍

I currently get this error too on 7.4.9. Disabling the plugin and deleting those folders doesn't help. Reverting to an older version (7.4.2) of the Extension Manager either. What can I do to fix this?

What errors did you get after deleting those folders?

Initially only an error saying that Advanced Module Manager won't be working.
After that I installed 7.4.9 again and got the same error from this initial topic again.

Can you give me (super) admin and (s)ftp access so I can take a look?
And tell me on what url I can see/reproduce the issue.

You can reproduce bij installing the Regularlabs plugin. I'll be standby to delete the 2 folders if needed.

I went to the 'Extensions > Manage > Manage' page and saw that the Regular Labs Library was not installed correctly. It was there, but just showing the language string.
So I uninstalled the RL Library plugin and library extensions.
Re-installed the latest version of Advanced Module Manager...
And all working fine now.

PS: Nice to see that website using my extensions... I was born in Zaandam and my mom has worked for De Bieb in the past 🙂

Wow, I'm still baffled. I did exactly the same steps, but got the error again. So I wonder what the difference was.

But I'm very glad you fixed it. Thanks!

P.S.: Cool! I'll tell them you fixed it for them 😉

Oh, before I forget; can we expect this same issue with other sites or is this just a little incident?
Peter van Westen's Avatar Peter van Westen ADMIN
There has been a change in the Regular Labs Library.
And due to something weird in the Joomla installation process, things can go haywire halfway, causing an extension (in this case the Regular Labs Library) to not be able to update all the files.
Then that causes the error for the new extensions containing code that relies on those new updated files.

This pretty much only happens when there are new files that need to be created and for some reason fail. So this should not happen often at all. I just had to add new files and change some stuff around in preparation for Joomla 4 compatibility.
And unfortunately, this seems to break bad when Joomla has a hiccup during the extension update process.

I am having this EXACT same issue. Any ideas on what you can do to help me, sir?

See if emptying the administrator/cache folder helps…

That didn't. I have to disable libraries/regularlabs to get / or /admin to load.

I can't install any RL extension.

yes, sir. I scoured over every link related to the issue on the site. I deleted all the folders and even removed DB entries. I also removed all Regular Labs entries from extensions.

I get: An error has occurred.
