1 - Modules revert to blank (transparent/no color) on save
2 - Categories don't appear at all (nor can I create one)

All 3 of your points are working fine on my setup.
Can you give me (super) admin and (s)ftp access so I can take a look?
You can use the 'Confidential information' button in the forum editor to hide sensitive information.

Please make sure you are using the latest version of Advanced Module Manager!

I had just installed it this afternoon.
EDIT - it might be my browser. I almost always build in Firefox - let me check Chrome.
EDIT 2 - changing to chrome didn't fix anything. no categories. no re-sort order.
9.0.7 is the version I get when I click the download link.

Ok, found the issue with the color. This was only an issue in the free version.
Please try the latest development version from:
regularlabs.com/development-releases
The categories work fine, though.
And also reordering seems to work fine. You need to set the list ordering to that column first.
