Parse error: syntax error, unexpected

Alex Ragozzino's Avatar Alex Ragozzino
I'm not sure where the issue is from. I used Akeeba AdminTools to create an .htaccess file and it resulted it a 500 error message locking me out of the site:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=' in /...plugins/system/modulesanywhere/modulesanywhere.php on line 100

If there is a way to manually disable the plugin, I can explore further.

What version of PHP are you running on?

Version 7.4

Try deleting that folder and re-install Modules Anywhere

I've discovered something in the htaccess build by AdminTools or possibly on the server is causing the site to use PHP 5.4. Looking into it further to see why that is happening.

Thanks Peter. The PHP version was the issue. I needed to add a rule to the htaccess file to force the site to run on PHP 7:
<IfModule mime_module>
  AddHandler application/x-httpd-ea-php74 .php .php7 .phtml
</IfModule>

The site is loading now. I still need to figure out why the rule is needed all of a sudden.

By the way, I love the template you are using for your Kunena Forum.

Any plans to sell it? Actually your whole site is really nice!

Thanks. It isn't just a template. It is pretty much a customized version of an old Kunena. I changed a lot of code to make it work like I want and has a lot of code specifically for my website.
So no, it is not suitable for making available to the public.
