No Indirect Data Tag Substitution

Lothar Sack's Avatar Lothar Sack
Hi Peter,

is this a bug?

I'm using "Joomla 3.9.26", "JCE-Editor 2.9.5" and "Content Templater Pro 9.0.1".
There are two templates "test-1" and "test-2".
In both templates I use [[user:name]] and [[date:%Y-%m]].
In "test-2" I call "test-1" with [[template:test-1]].

The result:
I edited an article, first calling "test-1" and then "test-2".
The substitution of "user:name" and "date" worked fine only for the first step.
But the call of "test-1" in "test-2" inserts the source code for "user:name" and "date", no substitution is made.

Is this behavior intentionally correct or is it an "issue"?
I would prefer substitution in case of an indirect call.
The work would be easier (for me).
Are there some (severe) reasons not to do so?

I've made some screen shots and can send them to you, if you want.

Best regards
Lothar

Please try the latest development version from:
regularlabs.com/development-releases

Should be fixed in there...

Hi Peter,

thank you for rapidly fixing. Data Tags are now working exactly I had wished.

By the way: I use your extensions with great pleasure. Wish every user of reglab-extensions would have a lifetime bundle.

Greetings

Hi Peter,

there is a bug if I use your development release of content templater:
If I click a template to edit it, there comes an error message:

0 syntax error, unexpected 'if' (T_IF), expecting function (T_FUNCTION) or const (T_CONST)

So it is not possible to edit a template.

Going back to the template list the clicked one is marked to be open.
Changing the Editor has the same result. I tried the "Code Mirror" and the "AcyMailing editor".

Lothar

Hi Peter,

another bug:
The "conditional content editor-plugin" produces the same error I wrote about in my last mail.
I've downgraded the version of "content templater" to version 9.0.1. There are still the same error messages in both extensions ("cond. cont." and "cont. templ").

Greetings

Hi Peter,

I've now installed the last development-release of content templater. Both bugs (also in conditional content) have gone. All is fine.

Thanks
Lothar

Yes, it was a bug in the Regular Labs Library code (included with all extensions).
So updating one extension fixes it for all.
